Renovation and Architectural Transformation
Homes, apartments and interiors in Italy
Transformation begins by understanding what already exists.
Every building carries a structure, a history, an orientation, a relationship with light and an established way of organising everyday life.
Design begins with an understanding of the real condition: spatial layout, structures, building systems, openings, materials, technical condition, planning records, constraints and possible approval procedures.
If the property has not yet been purchased, this preliminary understanding can begin with pre-purchase property due diligence, combining technical verification with an assessment of its transformation potential before the purchase decision.
Transformation emerges from this knowledge: preserving what holds value, correcting what limits the space and introducing what can restore unity, measure and quality to the experience of inhabiting.
The existing condition is the first material of the project.
One project. Four integrated levels.
01 — Assessment and feasibility
Analysis of the property’s condition, planning and building records, cadastral consistency, constraints, existing approvals, intervention potential and the first technical, financial and programme considerations.
02 — Architectural design
Reorganisation of the rooms, study of proportions, spatial sequences, openings, natural light, thresholds and the relationship between interior and exterior.
03 — Interior design
Definition of materials, surfaces, colours, lighting, fixed elements, bespoke furniture and the relationships between space, objects and ways of inhabiting.
04 — Technical development and construction
Planning applications, detailed design, structural and building-services coordination, energy performance, construction details, cost estimates, assistance with contractor selection, construction supervision and coordination of the building process, according to the agreed scope of appointment.
Arckeo keeps design, technical development and construction within a single direction.

The existing fabric is design material.
A home may contain fragmented rooms, insufficient daylight, outdated layouts, building systems requiring renewal or constructed elements that have lost their relationship with one another.
This condition becomes the point of departure. Arckeo identifies what can be preserved, what requires correction and what must be recomposed through design.
The quality of the transformation depends on the ability to consider space, structure, light, matter, technical constraints and everyday life as parts of the same reality.
Before the new form comes the understanding of the existing one.
A new way of inhabiting.
Transformation acts on the relationships between spaces: it opens continuities, constructs thresholds, restores light, modifies proportions and makes a new order perceptible.
A renovation may begin with a technical or functional requirement and become an opportunity to recompose the entire experience of the home.
Every decision is measured against the people who will inhabit the space, their gestures, their needs and the relationship they wish to establish with the place.
The result is a space capable of belonging to those who inhabit it.

Light, material and detail give unity to space.
Interior design continues the architectural project down to the scale closest to the body and to everyday gestures.
Floors, walls, ceilings, lighting, doors, fixed elements, bespoke furniture and materials are defined as parts of a single composition.
Arckeo develops both complete interventions and more focused commissions, calibrating the project to the actual scale of the property, the client’s requirements and the level of transformation involved.
Detail builds continuity between space, matter and life.
Seeing what is possible before it is built.
When useful to the process, Arckeo combines surveys, drawings and three-dimensional models with preliminary scenarios developed through AI-assisted tools.
The images are produced under architectural direction and selected according to spatial, material and perceptual criteria grounded in the Griglia E9.
These scenarios help compare possibilities, clarify objectives and make the direction of the transformation understandable. Architectural and technical design subsequently verify dimensions, materials, feasibility and construction conditions.
Vision opens the possible. Design makes it buildable.

Recent works
Every project begins with a workshop: objectives, constraints, and choices become a clear path to completion. Here's a selection of works at various scales.
How the renovation process works
01 — Initial conversation and site visit
Understanding the property, the client’s requirements, the desired level of transformation and the initial conditions of the appointment.
02 — Survey, documents and feasibility
Survey of the existing condition, collection of the available documentation and preliminary assessment of planning, building, cadastral, technical and heritage constraints.
03 — Concept and preliminary design
Definition of the new spatial organisation, relationships between rooms, natural light, materials and the principal architectural criteria of the intervention.
04 — Approvals and detailed design
Preparation of the required applications and development of the architectural and technical information needed to construct the project.
05 — Contractors, construction and coordination
Assistance in assessing quotations, coordination of consultants and contractors, construction supervision and control of the relationship between design and construction, according to the agreed appointment.
06 — Interiors and completion
Final definition of materials, lighting, fixed elements, bespoke furniture and the components required to complete the space.
The services are defined case by case according to the property, the complexity of the intervention and the agreed professional scope.
From a focused renovation to a complete transformation.
Arckeo works on apartments, houses, villas, farmhouses, historic residences, hospitality spaces and other properties requiring a new architectural organisation or an interior design project.
The appointment may concern a single room, the entire interior, a complete building renovation, the recovery of an existing property or the coordinated transformation of the building and its external spaces.
Scale, services, programme and fees are defined in relation to the condition of the property, available documentation, required approvals, budget and the client’s objectives.

Architectural direction and responsibility for the process.
Arckeo undertakes commissions at different scales, from interior consultancy and design to complete renovation, coordinating the expertise required to develop and construct the intervention.
Where the place, programme and client create the conditions for an authorial work, the direction of Fausto Ferrara leads the transformation towards the Habitable Work — Opera Abitabile.
Arckeo makes its development possible through technical assessment, approvals, detailed design, specialist coordination, construction supervision and control of the realisation process.
Architecture establishes the direction. Technical work allows form to become reality.
Every transformation begins by listening to what already exists.
For an initial assessment, it is useful to indicate the property’s location, type and approximate area, current condition, available documentation and the principal objectives of the intervention.

Arckeo will assess the substance of the potential commission and whether the conditions exist to begin a professional process.
Work begins once the scope of services, professional fee and programme have been defined.
Every existing space holds possibilities that design must learn to recognise.
Renovating means intervening in an already built reality: understanding its structure, limits, qualities and potential before introducing a new form.
Arckeo develops renovations, architectural transformations and interior design projects for apartments, houses, villas, farmhouses and complex properties in Italy.
From the initial site visit to architectural design, from planning approvals and technical development to construction coordination and interior definition, every stage is brought together within a single process.
To transform is to give a new measure to what already exists.
