CASA M1

An enclosed house, a world within the world, completely self-sufficient.
Our client, a doctor from Chicago, commissioned us to design a house that could be his place of meditation and observation of nature. A sort of temple. Closed to the outside, opened only by choices dictated by the spaces, the house is built within walls that surround it and define its layout. A garden to the east and a body of water to the west where the sunsets can be reflected. The house opens only to the south, towards the swimming pool.
Designed to be completely self-sufficient, the house, in addition to adopting a geothermal system, uses sunlight to heat and cool; it also uses rainwater recovery for waste cisterns and washing machine drains.
