  • Everyday objects. We often no longer reflect on their essence; we tend to use them without realizing it; in the act of bringing food to our mouths, tasting it, and nourishing ourselves, the meaning of what we do prevails. For a Buddhist monk and for Zen philosophy, the ladle, the only tool for nourishing and savoring food, is such an essential object not only for its simplicity, but for its significance in nourishing the body, which is above all a spiritual entity.

This is where the Itzel project was born. The beginning is to find the essence, the minimal lightness of the form, where its linearity represents the constant search for the spirit of things. Each shape, like its different spoons and forks, indicates different ways of approaching food, not just as a habit, but as the essence of what we perceive.
