COLUMNAE

Modern and ancient in a dialogue of continuity that plays on the material while maintaining the historical identity intact.
The interior design of this private residence, located in the heart of Rome's historic center, was guided by a simple goal: to restore the existing envelope, strengthening its monumental and historical identity, and overlaying it with a contemporary layer capable of supporting the residential architecture program and all the activities related to contemporary living.
This new layer extends along the entire perimeter of the apartment, supporting various functions, all linked to the different spaces and programs; wardrobes, bookcases, or simple shelving interact with the existing envelope, changing shape while maintaining a unique identity and materiality.
